The David Gregory MacKinnon Memorial 10K Race can act as a great stepping stone to progress into more advanced races while building awareness to the sport of running. It provides a challenge to new runners but can also be a great leisure course for the more advanced runner. This race will allow children to participate along with their parents; a fantastic way to encourage family interaction. It is also an ideal way to fundraise for sports teams, associations, groups and schools. We encourage all participants to use this race to collect pledges and raise funds for the David Gregory MacKinnon Memorial Foundation.
The start of the David Gregory MacKinnon Memorial 10K begins at 9:00am.
Due to the demand, we have increased the CAP to 750 participants in this event.
The David Gregory MacKinnon Memorial 10K Race is an “out and back” course that will start at Upper Rapids Boulevard and head north towards the Niagara Parkway. Participants will make a right onto the Niagara Parkway, cross the Chippawa Bridge, turn left onto Bridgewater Street and then make a loop at the 4.5 kilometer marker located just past Service Road 30 on the Niagara Parkway. Participants will then follow the Niagara Parkway back to the Finish Line located in front of the Toronto Power Generating Station National Historic Site of Canada (click here for more information). Participants will experience the beauty of the Niagara Parks along the Niagara River, voted the most scenic course in Ontario in 2012, passing (3) Hydration Stations and (2) Cheer Stations and (1) Aid Station along the way.
