HALF-MARATHON RUN/WALK

The start of the Auto Value Hyundai Half-Marathon Run/Walk begins at 10:00am

Half-Marathon CAP = 2,500

Half-Walk CAP = 300

We ask all walkers to please assemble behind the Half-Marathon runners at the start line.

Wheelchair Division (OPEN): Wheelchair athletes are welcome to register in the Half-Marathon. This event begins at 9:55am – please assemble in front of the the runners. The Auto Value Hyundai Half-Marathon starts on the Niagara Parkway at the 21.09K (13.1 mile) point of the Full Marathon, located approximately 2K south of the Marina on the Niagara Parkway between Cairns Crescent and Thompson Road at Service Road 3. Voted one of the most scenic Marathon’s in Canada, #1 in Ontario!

The course is flat for the first 17.6K (11 miles) with a 55 foot drop over the remaining 3.36K (2.1 miles). It is considered one of the fastest Half-Marathon courses in the country. Click Here for an Elevation Map

Runners will follow the elegantly landscaped and meticulously kept Niagara River Parkway just above water level. 200 years ago, British and American troops fought up and down this area, but today it is an image of tranquility. On the river side of the course, the most notable landmarks are the Marina, boat launches, parks and picnicking areas. By the time you reach the north end of Navy Island near Chippawa, the river is well over a mile wide.

Coming into Chippawa, the course bears left around an inlet and leads into the picturesque village. As you approach the turn you will see the billowing spray of Niagara Falls for the first time, as well as the first intake gates of the hydropower system that furnishes electricity to both countries. The course then moves back onto the majesty of the Parkway bringing you to the new finish line located in front of the Toronto Power Generating Station National Historic Site of Canada (for more information click here).

Upon completion of the 13.1 miles, you have arrived at the most famous Finish Line in the world, the magnificent Niagara Falls!
