Q: Is there race kit pick up on race day?
A: No. All bibs/shirts MUST be picked up at the expo.
Q: Can a friend pick up my bib at the expo?
A: Marathon registrants: NO. Every marathon runner MUST pick up his/her own kit as they must clear Customs at the expo.
Half/10k/5k registrants: We prefer that all runners pick up their own race kit at the expo. If this is not possible, please leave with the Race Kit Pickup Volunteer a letter stating your name, bib number, race distance and that of the person whose bib you are picking up.
Q: Is the Marathon a Boston Qualifier?
Q: I can't make it anymore; may I have my money back? May I transfer my entry to a friend?
A: Yes you may transfer your bib to another person, the fee is $10.00. We do not offer refunds once a person has registered.
Q: I'm injured or otherwise unable to attend. May I have a refund? May I defer my entry to next year?
A: Sorry, no refunds and no deferrals will be allowed. See above question about transfers.
Q: Will shelter be provided at the Marathon start line?
A: Yes. The Albright-Knox Art Gallery will be open before the race for all runners and spectators to come in, relax and stay warm. Water and port-o-potties will be available outside the gallery near the start line.
Q: Will shelter be provided at the Half Marathon start line?
A: Tents will be available at the Half Marathon start.
Q: If I drive my own vehicle to the Marathon start line (in the USA) will there be parking?
A: There is parking, however, keep in mind that you have to FIND YOUR OWN WAY BACK TO THE U.S.A. We shuttle marathon runners from the Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls, Canada to the start at the Albright-Knox Gallery in the U.S.A. Parking in the U.S.A. is along Lincoln Parkway, that runs alongside the race start.
Q: Can I drive my own vehicle to the Half Marathon start line (along Niagara Parkway)?
A: Due to limited space, no parking and road closures, we do not recommend using your own vehicle or being transported to the Half Marathon start. We operate shuttles to the Half start.
Q: Are iPods allowed on the course?
A: iPods - Headphones and iPods are permitted; however please keep the volume low or one ear free to hear if vehicles are approaching as participants may be asked to move to the side of the course to enable medical vehicles to pass.
Q: Where are the awards presentation for all events?
A: 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall in each event: Awards presented at the finish area. Digital photographs for age group award winners will be EMAILED following the race. Allow for 2 weeks to receive the email so that results may be finalized.
Q: Can I push my child in a stroller while I run?
A: Only single baby strollers are allowed in the 5K and 10K event. (not allowed in the Marathon and Half Marathon).
Q: Can you explain Chip Time versus Gun Time?
A: Gun Time: The time from the sound of the starter's signal to the time when the runner crosses the finish line. Also known as the Official Time. (All awards are based on official time).
Real Time, Chip Time: The time from when the runner crosses the starting mats at the start line, to the time when the runner crosses the finishing mats.
